Ahah! How to dodge those pesky adds on the right when typing a post!

I don't know about you, but I find it very annoying that I have to type part of my post 'underneath' the ads on the right.

I have discovered the answer! Just post a word or two and then edit your post. The post editor is not buried under the ads.

    Bele,

I have complained about this to all concerned - 'The powers to be' - and persistently asked them about this damn advertising clouding the comments box. I will email them and tell them.

Yeah I've been doing that too--using the edit function. Thing about the Internet and especially ads is, if it results in a hassle, then the tendency is usually to sign off. That "edit" extra step is a hassle and I bet it results in bloggers just not bothering to blog.

i don't have the problem, and have no idea why. i can understand it would be annoying.

could it be caused by display/page settings on your computer?

maybe there's a techno nerd amongst us who can offer advice.....

It doesn't happen all the time for me anyway; maybe 25%.

It depends on where on the page you are replying. For example, this post is the 6th down the page and the ads don't currently extend that far. If they did "this" bit would have been buried under the ad. New posts are particularly bad as they just about always get covered by the Compare Travel search.

I think the problem is also that the text box for blogging is wider than the column of the page assigned to the blog, so it extends under the column of the page that is assigned to ads.

Don't know about page settings, I wouldn't have thought so, it might be different with different browsers. I'm using IE, maybe someone without a problem is using Firefox?

you've nailed it bele....i opened tenggo's post and see what you mean.

try this. instead of posting and editing, type across to the ad then hit the return/enter key to start a new line.

I have done that a few times Shorty, but the post reads funny. I will
demonstrate by posting that way here. It is because when it displays
the wrap is not the same as what was entered, so you end up with
    lines ending half way across.

A bugger this one looks ok. But I have made strange looking ones in the past.

I had a similar problem, but to solve it, I merely wrote my message in Word first - spell checked it - then copied and pasted it. Works fine if the problem isn't going to be fixed.
