We plan to spend April 3 - 15th in Bali.
We have a place to stay in Ubud from the 3rd-10th.
We plan to take a day trip to Kuta and also a day trip to bike Batur.
The final four or five days we are debating:
2-3 days in Padang Bai (maybe day trip to Mt Agung for a overnight hike)
    2-3 days in Bukit Penisula.

Is this too much travel in a short time?
    Any thoughts?

    Hi Veronica,

Seems like a perfect itinerary to me. Staying in Ubud does give you a great base to explore the various regions on the island.

    Hi Veronica,

Padang Bai is a good base for diving trips, if that is what you enjoy. If not, I'd cut the time there (or skip entirely, or leave as a day trip), and use those days somewhere else--e.g., day trip to Tirta Ganga/Ujung, or a night in Amed (again, good for diving). The hike up Agung is a bit strenuous, and requires a very early morning start--ideally with a guide. Another Agung option is to drive up to the temple on the mountainside; early mornings have the best views depending on cloud cover. Note that climbing Agung is not allowed when major events are going on at Besakih--and these are often in April. If you like rafting, Ubud is a good place to do this. Some outfits offer mid-afternoon trips which omit the usual lousy lunch, and are a lot cheaper. Kuta knick-knack shopping is cheaper than Ubud (and Kuta is very close to the airport) so you could think about leaving that for the last night in Bali instead of just a day trip. Let the forum know how it went!

Thank you for the responses and advise!
What is the opinion on staying in a beach hut on Nusa Lombongan for a night?
We will have to consider if our time is well spent doing a long trek up Agung, perhaps a drive would be better. Any idea how to know if there is a ceremony which would prevent us from climbing?

    Thank you!

Looking at Agung from Lembogan is a beautiful veiw.
And some of the hotels have mountain climbs to the huts
nice swimming and diving . You don't arrive until mid morning
on most boats so one night is short , there are a few things to do
for two days,i.e. scooter around the island , snorkeling/ diving , surfing
underground cave , rent a boat and driver and circimnavigate the island
Visit strange underground house and belt your head on the roof .
And the big income for a lot of the locals is the seaweed farms
I think you can Google up the dates for ceremony's in Bali.
Ahmed is a great place as Ripena suggested , laid back with some good restraunts
and a great shallow wreck dive
    Cheers dansby10
