Bali in January

   Hi Guys. This would be our first trip to Bali and we have been looking forward to it. But I have read that it is a rainy season around that time. I want to stay mainly in Ubud - does that area hit by monsoons heavily? Any help you guys can give would be great...Thanks.

   Yes, expect rain in the afternoons--a deluge lasting 1-2 hours, ending before 4 pm most times. Plan your day around that possibility--maybe eat a late lunch? It's not such a bad thing as it can cool things down. In Kuta though, those rains can cause serious flooding on the strip.
