Bali Safari/Marine Park, Gianyar

   Has anyone been here? I think it was only opened last year.
   Is it worth a look?
   Or, is the Elephant Park a better choice?

   I must confess that I have been to neither! However, some friends of mine did visit the Safari Park and were less than impressed but thought it was good. Opt out for the Elephant Park at Taro. This is my opinion only mind you.

   We have taken the family (Bali & Aussie) and are realy impressed with the whole set up, the food is a bit over the top but the animals and safari bus ride is great.I havnt been to the elephant park but I have been told its average compared to thr safari park.

   We went last year, it is OK, a little bit "Hollywood", but the highlight for me was having a close encounter with an Orang Utan, yep we embraced.
   It is expensive and you have to feel sorry for the animals in such a hot climate and small space. The day we were there there were people in a line waiting for the few minutes with the Orang Utan and in order to be able to take your own photo they charge a considerable premium. I would not go back but I am glad I went once to see it.

   I have been there in February and thought it very expensive, especially for those who wanted an elephant ride.

   I have been there twice and if you have young children it is especially worthwhile.
