    Hi Everybody,

My wife and I are nearing the end of about 2.5 years of travelling
/living abroad and are looking for a place in Bali to relax and do
nothing but snorkel for a month. Basically we are looking for as
cheap a place as possible, preferably with wifi, that is near some
calm waters with nice corals. Right now I'm looking at Lovina area
but am open to any suggestions. Thanks.

Amed on the east coast is good--and there's a wide price range of places to stay. There's a diveable wreck up north called the Liberty and lots of operators to take you up there. The water can be a bit rough at times though. Not sure about the wi-fi, but I bet there's places around. The Wawa Wewe is a great bar with live bands weekends. One thing I don't like about Amed though is flies (maybe they are seasonal?). The beachside restaurants have those sticky flycatcher things on the tables which I find disgusting. You could shuttle between Amed and Lovina, it's not that far. Generally though Bali isn't the greatest place in the area for snorkeling or beaches.

yes tulamben is the best IMO next to the wreck with its 400 species of fish resident, there is a coral garden no deeper than 5 metres best times are early morning of late afternoon when the bulk of fellow fish watchers have gone home
