I've been watching the prices, and so far China Air has been the most reasonable flight from LAX for $840 RT. Does anyone think it can get any lower for a March/April trip? I was going to wait till mid to late October and then book....Any suggestions?
China Air cheapest flight from LA?

Hi sbbali
You might want to check out Eva Air. They are a very competitive airline going to Bali; however, I do not know if they fly out from LA. They do fly out from Seattle. China Air has an awful track record when it comes to crashes. Flew them once, however, one week before I fly to Bali their plane crashed in Tipai.(spelling) Then a few years later they had another crash. Better safe than sorry.

Hi Maya,
Thanks so much. I agree w/better safe than sorry! I'm not familiar with Eva Air, but I will check them out. Do you know if the prices typically drop in the fall for airlines to Bali? Nobody seems to know around here.
Thanks for your insight!

Oh gosh, I never looked at the safety, I just want to get back to Bali cheap. In July I only paid 770 (incl all taxes) on China Airlines. So far they have been very helpful, even changing my connection in Taipai without charging me.. Everyone cross your fingers, I leave Sept 7

Be Safe. Since I heard from Maya, three other people have told me about China Air's history of crashes....However, think how many flights they have going....kind of like car crashes in comparison to how many people drive. Don't worry and have fun!

Hi sbbali i tend to agree with the others about the record of safety and yeah you have a higher chance of a car crash but having said that just last week i flew from Hong Kong to Guilin in China with China southern air and about 15mins before landing the plane caught fire and we had smoke in the cabin and then were met by fire trucks upon landing so that kept us on our toes but a week later i flew with them again to Xi'an and it was fine and yes they are cheap so its best you decide happy travels.

Hi Bradley Thanks for sharing your experience. I think I would much rather experience adventure on land than in a plane! I'm definitely NOT flying China Air. I think I will book w/Eva Air because they only have one stop and Singapore Airlines has two. I'm glad I asked :) Thanks again!

China Southern Air has nothing to do with China Air; the former is based in Mainland China, the latter here in Taiwan.
