I am completing a villa next year on the SE coast and will want a live-in couple to look after the place when we are not there, and after us when we are!

The man will be responsible for the garden and pool, and driving when we are there, and the wife for housekeeping.

Can anyone give us some advice as to what to pay a couple? They will also get free accommodation and utilities, and a sepeda motor.

I would feel that RP 1,500,000 each per month would be about right depending on location. Just remember someone who is doing your gardening might not meet your expectations for a sopir(driver). If might just want to use him for emergencies and drive yourself (bring international driving license if you do not want to pay bonuses to the police).

i would agree with Bryan, perhaps 2.5 as a couple , housekeepers often get around 1 million,it is not a fixed rate but i would suggest it depends on the standards you expect, will they be paying bills? also the length of stay you intend, more work when you are there probably

Thanks, Bryan and Borderline. The staff will live in their own house on the property, and all utilities paid for by us. They will have much reduced workloads whiilst we are not there (half the time).

Hi, would you consider hiring South Africans? My husband and I are both teachers, very eager to work in Bali. How do we apply?
