Hello.
Let me start with introducing myself: I am a Norwegian man, married with a Balinese. My wife is from Banjar Kepitu, a small village about 7 minutes drive north of Ubud. (Tegallallang) We have two girls, one is 3 and the other is just 3 months old.
I visited Bali for the first time in 1987 and have been back many times since, usually once or twice yearly. I did not plan to marry a Balinese, but I have a “large” Indonesian contact net here in Norway and actually met my wife here, and ended up in marriage. My family is even stranger… my father married again with a lady from Flores and has a house in Kerobokan, but we can not stay there as it is occupied. (He runs a shop in Oslo with imported goods from Asia, mostly Bali and India).
We will most likely be traveling to Bali next February and my wife and children will be staying up to 4 months, I only for 2 months.
We usually stay in hotels in Ubud and also use some time in the Kuta/Seminyak area for some beach life. However, as we are staying for so long time this time we would like to rent a house/villa for most of the time or at least a few months. (I will be traveling to other Asian countries and Australia as well). Life in my wife’s village is too noisy with people waking up at 5 AM, chickens, roosters and pigs…I guess you know what I mean. So an own house with more privacy is preferred.
I have searched the internet for villas and houses and must have found hundreds, from the very run down to the extremely expensive, so I am now using the time to check out different places. A swimming pool is not a must, but certainly very nice.
I would like to hear from house/villa owners, or if some of you know of any vacant houses regarding renting a house/villa and to check if it is available for rent from sometime in February next year. And maybe you have some photos you could send?
Is it possible to find a house with swimming pool for less than US$800 per month?
Anyway, sorry for rambling on for so long. I hope somebody are able to help and would love to discuss further.

I wish you all the best for now.
