Over years I have warned about scams such as dying the newish Rp2,000
green so it looks like a Rp20,000 and false information stickers in ATMs
Now here is a new one. You receive a missed call on your overseas mobile.
When you go to reply (it is a +62 number) an automated asks you to key
in your number and pin. DONT. You may be giving a hacker the info. required
to have the ability to use your phone at your expense etc. I tried calling the number from ny bali phone but unknown

the level of scam - dodgy atms whatever - is far lower than in the west.
sure, there's many unsuspecting idiots caught in south east asia
the main reason?
at home we are anally security conscious. get on the plane and leave oz (or where ever), and the nasties are left behind.
