We are staying at Casanoi Villa in Seminyak for A$57 per night. http://casanoi.com

You might also try Mahalini III Bungalows - they are very reasonably priced and in the heart of restaurants etc in Seminyak. We stayed last March for 300,000 rupiah per night - which is about A$37 - they might even give you a better rate for long term. http://mahalinibali.com/bungalow3.htm

Try the Febri's hotel in Tuban. Great people and service and quite well priced.

Don't book ahead, when you get to the airport go to the tourist desk, they will pull out a three ring binder with places to stay. The first one will have the most expensive, the second will be a little less and the third one will have very reasonable places to stay. The cheapest places to stay do not have websites, that costs a whole lot of money and they have to have technical skills, whereas you are really looking for someplace clean, comfortable & quiet.

Hi there, here is a place i can recomend just google " villa pisang mas legian" i stay there every time i go to bali and i just love it 5 mins from the beach but tucked away in a very beautiful garden and is quiet they have a variety of villas and prices starting at around $35 a night but you could barter for a longer stay, they also have villas at Canggu but are more upmarket so make sure you look at the legian address good luck coolrunnings Brad

This is what Baliblog forums is all about! I've made a note of this place for my next visit in October.

Hey bradley, Made is due to give birth to her first daughter in 3 weeks. I don't think she'll last that long as she's huge. My daughters and I bought her baby things yesterday, cause as I said I don't think she'll last. She's really lovely. I'll tell her "hi". As to Warung Asia, everytime we eat there my 4 yr old daughter helps in the kitchen!! She actually clears the tables of plates for their customers! They think she's very funny.

Believe me ripeha, Bradley is right, it's a great place. We went off to Pandangbai the other day for the night and couldn't sleep due to the boats honking the horns all night!. Was a relief to get back to the peace of Villa Pisang Mas!!!

Another great stop to eat (of which I'm addicted) is Drops in Legion. Prices range from 35,000 - 90,000 with the average being 45,000. A bit steep compared to warungs, but the food is fabulous! A cut above everyone else!! Superbly presented, great service and I think the prices are really good for the quality you get.

Spent yesterday with the orphans at Meghwi. Took a year's supply of soap, toothpaste, new toothbrushes, boxes of noodles, rice and some treats for the kids. If anyone is coming over and wishes to spend the day with the kids and help them send me an email for info. The kids are so cheerful, friendly and lots of fun. (I don't know whether this info is in line with the baliblog protocol. Let me know if not)

Anyway off to the Legion beach today and taking my girls to Joni's to see the Balinese dances tonight.
