I am planning my honeymoon for September in Bali. We will be spending the first 5-6 days in southern Bali at the beach and the last 5 days around Ubud. I am trying to decide between Nusa Dua and Jimabaran/Seminyak area for the first leg of the trip. I know that Nusa Dua is much more touristy with the luxury hotels but I have also found great accommodations there for a reasonable price. Since it is our honeymoon we would like to stay at a nice place where we can really relax the first few days. We also like to get out and see Bali and do not want to miss out by staying in a poor location. Suggestions?

Have not been to Jimabaran/Seminyak. But love Nusa Dua. I don't think you could find a
better place to honeymoon. The beaches are great, the hotels are terrific. Ubud is great also for
the 5 days. If you hot a good price in Nusa Dua, most of those hotels are all 5 star. We are going
in March (Nusa Dua, Sanur,Candidasa,Ubud) We got a great deal with Singapore Air which
included 5 nights in Nusa Dua. Don't think we could have afforded Nusa Dua without the Singapore Air deal.

Kaitlyn, it's the 1st 4/5 days of the honeymoon......outside the hotel and it's facilities who cares what else is around?

if you want a slice of Bali thrown in, then go to Seminyak. if you want self indulgent, seal the deal, then Nusa Dua/Jimbaran.

for 'privacy', 'my own space', i'd go top end Jimbaran.

it's your honeymoon. if a few 100 dollars get's you some extra magic, go for it. remember (hopefully) you've only one shot at marriage.

give it the best shot you can afford.

    Congrats in advance!
