Hello people
I live very close to Bali and so visit very often. I have been traveling there since my children were babies. They are now either in Uni or working..
I have always allowed my company to direct the activities on holiday, especially when the company were children and young adults.
My partner and I have traveled there but again, I allowed him to direct the activities. I adore Bali in any shape or form but have wanted other people to feel the 'love' from theirs.
Now I have been to Bali by myself a few times but mostly shopped and raced around.
I NEED to take holiday in September, I am all in, so much has happened lately and I'm tired and down.
I am traveling by myself and need to see most wonderful things, do less strenuous activities, treat myself gently and with respect, but above all enjoy the time doing exactly what pleases me. I am shopped out and don't want bar of it. Any suggestions?? I have always hired a car or a driver but at 53 do you think I am too old to try a scooter and bimble around on that? See! I've lost my mojo, I have done things for other people for so long I have forgotten how to enjoy things by MYSELF!! How much would the scooter cost and can you give me any tips there. Suggestions dear people. I arrive 21 September for 2 weeks. I will be in Kuta.
Cheers.
Things to do in September - need interesting activities

Hi,
Suggest you consider getting out of Kuta and spending time in Ubud - you can visit the galleries, eat the best food in Bali, walk through rice fields and see the most beautiful scenery and be away from the madness of Kuta. Also you may like to explore the east, using Candi Dasa as a base and visit the Justice Buildings of Klungkung, Safari Park in Gianyar, Tenganan Bali Aga Village, Tirtaganga (water palace), the secret white sand beach and Amed. There is so much to see and do, but thought I would give you some food for thought.Posted 3 years ago # -
Hippiechick, tell me/us more about the Safari Park in Gianyar! I've seen the signs but never visited.

Hi Ripeha
Well I have mixed feelings about this place - it really is not my thing, but my daughter loved it (she is an adult!!!)
It is a theme park type format (complete with restaurants and water park) and costs USD25.00 to get in which entitles you to look at the animals and have one photo op with either the Tiger or Orang Utan and access to water park. If you want both photo ops you pay an extra 30k Rup. Now don't get excited you use your own camera!!!
I am not a fan of animals being used to make $'s in this way and the orang utan especially. However it is popular and new, but nothing there that I would want to see again. I just had to check it out for myself after number 1 daughter reported how good it was. They do have a white tiger exhibit which is special as they are the largest cat and the drive through safari area is kinda ok.The entire experience is very "Hollywood"!!

Hippiechick, thanks for that. Hmmmmm...I like waterparks (Waterbom in Kuta is fun, I've been there several times, and I'm an adult too--oh, there is a "what's on in Kuta this week" rag in the local restaurants that has a 10% off entry coupon) but not the animal thing.
